As promised, I am back to share some Gel Press printing info with you. To start off, here are the tools I used to create a background: The Gel Press (the other tools are resting on it), a Brayer, Lemon Drop Liquid Color, and the Bloom Wall Stencil. The whole line of Fun Stampers Journey Liquid Color is (bottled) dye-based ink. Our Gel Press is the only 8 1/2″ x 11″ size on the market. Yay for us!
Here I’ve added a thin line of the Lemon Drop Liquid Color to the right half of the Gel Press.
Next I roll the Brayer over the Liquid Color until I have smooth coverage over the area I wish to add color to.
The Bloom Wall Stencil is then placed down on the inky Gel Press.
Next I placed a clean sheet of Whip Cream 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock over the inky stencil and ran the Brayer back and forth over the cardstock using firm downward pressure. I didn’t bother to clean the Lemon Drop Liquid Color from my Brayer as this will be the back of my image and no-one will see it anyway. Sometimes I will unload the Brayer by rolling it onto a clean piece of cardstock; the result is an unevenly colored cardstock that makes a beautiful base to stamp on. Next comes lifting the cardstock to view the print that’s hiding on the other side. And here we have it…the Gel Press print! Now all I have to do is trim it down to the size I need for my project. I Hope you’ve enjoyed the tutorial and will pass it along to a friend. All of the products I used for this project can be purchased from my online store. By clicking right here on the word SHOP you will be taken directly to my online store. As always, thanks for taking the time to visit. I appreciate you and your business!
